The Reality

*This Poem Is Actually About My Mom, And How I Can't Seem To Open Up To Her*

She Screams In Silence,
Hoping The Loud Blast Will Shatter
All The Walls She Has Built.
No Matter How Hard She Tries,
And How Much She Wants To,
She Can't Seem To Escape
This Prison She Truly Hates.
When Her Mouth Opens
And The Thoughts Swirl Around,
Nothing But Tears Come Out
A Black Mascara Trail Of Mistakes.
Why Can't She Share Her Pain?
How Can She Be Scared Of The Safest Thing?
But When Someone Comes Close
Closer Than Her Mind Can Take,
They Won't Get Anywhere Near Her
Nowhere Close
Pushed Away Insignificantly,
Leaving Not Even A Mark
As She Hides Away In The Dark.
Just A Figment Of Your Imagination
You Think You Know The Real Her
Yet No One Is Brave Enough To Face
The Brutal World She Actually Lives In.
Secrets Will Be Forever Hidden
In The Hole Of Smoke Called Her Heart,
All Your Love Just Tears Her Apart.
