Final Thought

by Captain Lonesome   Mar 8, 2006

Perhaps it is time to call off all attempts,
Perhaps it is time to put my love to rest.
I'm still going to think of you every day, an probably more often,
But the time has come to put the final nail in the coffin.
So this is what it fells like when your match has been met,
To sit back and do nothing while loves sun sets.
Nighttime has fallen on the greatest feelings I'll ever have,
I wish I had a dollar for every minute you made me sad.
I'm not moving on, or getting over you,
I'm just giving up, that's all I can do.
I'll stay livin', but I'm not alive,
That's something only you can revive.
I'll carry on empty and cold,
Until I die alone and old.
If you ever want to cry,
Just remember I'll be that guy,
Sitting alone at the end of the bar,
Where we met, drinking something strong and hard.
If you ever want to come back, I'm not jokin',
When I say I'll meet you with my heart and arms wide open.
But it seems you won't give me a second chance,
So until you change your mind, I'm giving up on romance.
Whether or not the end of love in my life is true,
That all depends on you.
This never healing wound in my heart is from your knife,
And will haunt me for the rest of my lonely life.

    Wow very deep!
I know how it feels to face the situation where you want to put love to rest and at the same time cant get that one person off your mind although you try really hard to.
    Keep it up!
