Shot with an arrow

by David Marshall   Mar 8, 2006

Shot with an arrow,
across the evening seas.
Love you gave and borrow,
across the withering trees.

Waiting for your beauty,
across the roaring mountains.
Waiting for you to come to me,
love like sparkling fountains.

Here you come and go,
like birds in the winter.
Love you never show,
like the day goes dimmer.

For every sun that shined,
and that has arose.
My heart you rip and bind,
that made my soul froze.

I try to believe,
that you will soon come back.
I gave love but didn't receive,
and being loved is what i lack.

I guess I'll sit and wait to die,
like the nighttime stars.
Here I sit and begin to cry,
as I look at my scars.

Tragic, beautiful, full of expressive love and despair. Excellent poem, very well written.

The title and the text went together well.
It would be difficult to be un-moved while experiencing this poem.
Your use of words is impressive.
