The tide took you away,
Abandoning me; still so much to say.
Glass in pieces, washed ashore,
Your body won’t respond anymore.
Too late for a single confession,
The pain I feel, I dare not mention.
Broken, to see but not believe,
Beg one more change, please don’t leave.
Baptizing your corpse, my tears on your bed,
Your life was my life -- he could’ve taken me instead.
With old memories tearing me apart,
The pain won’t stop; eating away at my heart.
If I could, I’d switch places with you,
But the world doesn’t think the way I do.
So now, I write for you: this poem,
In place of a requiem.

More tears!!!
another beautiful and captivating poem. I love your use of words, you have an excellent vocab. I can ttly relate to the poem in many ways.
The first letter of each of the first three lines spells TAG! ha!
YOU'RE IT!
Great work of poetry. Nice rhyming scheme.
5/5

(btw: the last line is not a good last line. It needs to leave the reader hanging, but not disappointed...)
