That Was Me

by BrokenREALiTy   Mar 10, 2006

I see a girl in the mirror
Her eyes are full of fear
She's shaking scared and cold
As the lies begin to unfold
Her lips quivering, afraid
As every memory of her's start to fade
Her skin so white and pale
As she feels that she's failed
Tears streaming down her face
As she begins to die in her place
Staring blankly, no emotion in her eyes
She shuts her heart close, locking out the lies
Closing her eyes, she curls up into a ball
Crying as she leans up against the bathroom wall
Taking a glance at the knife beside her
Thinking of going through with it, yes sir
Grasping a knife in hand
Does she want to go to another land?
Yes, she wants to, placing the knife to her skin
The game of life, she didn't want to win
Glancing up at the mirror once more
Knowing the world's going to be the same as before
Digging the knife into her skin
She didn't care if this was considered a sin
And once her vision begins to fade
Weakly, against the wall she laid
Looking up at the mirror sitting there
She sees the faces of those who used to care
Now I'm sitting in her spot
In a pool of blood, head hurting a lot
And soon I realize, before what I couldn't see
The girl in the mirror ...
That was me
