Life and Death

by dumbblonde76   Mar 10, 2006

The ominous thunder booming in the sky,
made the young girl want to cry,
for it reminded her of that horrible day,
when the Lord took her mother away,
as thoughts of her mother swirled in her head,
she wished she too were dead,
as she searched for a way to end her pain,
her tears cascaded down like rain,
soon her eyes rested upon a knife,
finally a way to end her strife,
as she raised the knife to plunge it in,
she thought of her mother's beautiful grin,
and how she always said life was worth livin'
no matter what you've been given,
she let that knife fall to the ground,
thankful for the advice she had found.

I really like this poem. I mean it is really sad but I loved the words you used in it. It wasn't the simple words everyone always uses. Great job! You got my 5!!!
