To The People Of This Site

After over a year of discovering this site,
My life has drastically changed.
Reading what I wrote only months ago,
I realize that I no longer am the same person.

I used to hide behind my mask
And disguise a deep dark part of myself.
No one ever saw what I felt inside,
That void that lingered within.

Poetry has helped me chase away
The inner demons that chained me.
It has helped me get rid
Of the rage I kept inside.

Today, I need to thank all of you;
Every one person who commented.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Writing was one of my ways of escaping reality,
And to know that it is appreciated
Still leaves me speechless to this day.

When I entered this site,
All I wanted was to get critiqued.
I wanted to know how to improve.

I never expected to be here today,
A completely different person.
I never expected to have received
The amazing comments you have left for me.

Looking back at this year,
I finally see the journey I have made.
Through poetry, I transformed myself;
The raging and melancholic adolescent
Became peaceful and genuinely happy.

I started out as a girl
That simply wanted to get critiqued.
I started out as a girl
That simply needed to be heard.

Yet, I ended up as someone
Who continues to wonder if this is all a dream...
Thank you to every single person
Who has ever commented on my poems.
It means the world to me.
