Love of My Life

by Farren   Mar 11, 2006

I wonder how my life ended up this way?
With that one little mistake that April day.

All I desired was to feel wanted and loved.
When all along I should have been looking to God above.

I am paying the price of my mistakes.
Not having a Mama, of how my heart aches.

Never once thought one person could go through so much.
I can't wait to see your smile and feel your touch.

I always said it could never be me a teen statistic I would never be.

Now reality is sinking in on me
A new mother I will soon be.

The day has come you'll soon be here.
The decision I have to make I fear.

At two pounds seven ounces You are a blessing in disguise.
And the moment you came into my life brought tears to my eyes.

Now a year later a blue-eyed baby girl.
Oh how Makaylyn has brought happiness to my world.

As a young teen Mother I will make mistakes.
But for my little girl I'll do whatever it takes.

Days, months, and years will pass.
But I am a mother whose love will always last.

Hardships and heartache from the Daddy she never knew.
Even though he's never around he will always love her too.

A lifetime of memories is what we'll make.
And days of joy every morning we wake.

She gives me the motivation I need.
And for her I'll do everything it takes to succeed.

In her eyes I see a little me.
I can't wait to see the woman she is growing to be.

I will never regret keeping my child.
Especially when I see her beautiful smile.
