Inner Distressed Princess

by Jaime   Mar 11, 2006

I refuse to lie around sleeping
While Prince Charming shrugs along
They say I'm supposed to wait for him?
Well, I'll pinch myself and prove them wrong

I have no time for fairy tales
For dwarves and dragons and knights
For white horses or a pumpkin carriage
For talking clocks and flashing lights

I'm going to be my own hero
Because princes do not exist
They are a figment of our imaginations
But in real life, usually missed

So unless Mr. Prince can run real fast
He won't be able to keep up with me
'Cause from now on I'll only rely on myself
My inner Distressed Princess is setting me free
