Special Rose

by Elizabeth   Jan 22, 2004

UPON HER SHELF
WITH FADED PAGES
SHE KEPT A SPECIAL BOOK
THROUGHOUT THE AGES
WHENEVER SHE PASSED BY
SHE WOULD CRY
WITHIN THE COVERS HER PAST WOULD LIE
REMEMBERING BACK TO THAT NIGHT
GOING WITH HIM ,UNAFRAID
DRAWN BY THE SCENT WHERE ROSES GREW
COME TO THE GARDENS HE SAID
MY ROSES WILL ADMIRE YOU
RED ROSES ARE FOR LOVE
PINK ROSES ARE FOR ROMANCE
YELLOW ROSES A TALE THEY UNFOLD
FOR FRIENDS WILLING TO TAKE A CHANCE
WITHOUT THOUGHT
WHAT SEEMED THE BEST
PINK IS WHAT SHE SOUGHT
FORGETTING THE REST
SEDUCTIVE WAS ITS SCENT
REACHING,FEET BARELY TOUCHING THE GROUND
SOFTLY HE WENT
WITHOUT ANY SOUND
CHOSING THE REDDEST ROSE OF ALL
PRESENTED WITH A SOFT KISS
HEARING HIS CALL
A LIFE OF ETERNAL BLISS
SHE DIDN'T CARE WHAT WOULD COME NEXT
HIS WORDS SEEMING SO COMPLEX
SHE WAS ENTHRALLED
SHATTERING THOSE COLD WALLS
THE ROSE LIVES IN HER BOOK
PRESSED,DRIED AND RED
JUST LIKE THE LOVE SHE TOOK
WHO WENT TO WAR AS HER HEART BLED
DIEING IN A FOREIGN LAND
SHE REACHES OUT HER TREMBLING HAND
TO TOUCH THE ECHO OF A SIGH
HER LOVE FOR HIM WILL NEVER DIE
