A Bad Dream Forever Stay....

by Nazneen Ali   Jan 23, 2004

From far away it looked all right,
Her home so sweet and full of light.

But coming closer as we near,
You feel the love dying and growing fear

Voices being raised for no good reason,
Left out in the cold, she was freezing’

She called me up on her cell phone,
Never explained a word, just asked me to come,

She lived a life of violent hate,
That left her lying in such a horrific state.

I ran toward her, but then I froze,
To see her rise and stand in an awkward pose,

Her father hit her,
Till she fell again,
I sprinted toward her,
But just then

Before my eyes her throat was slit,
And dragged over, thrown in the pit.

Even though she was in pain,
With one last gasping breath I
heard her saying,

“One last thing before I die,
I bled on your shirt, I apologize.”

I came to a halt,
Couldn’t believe what I was seeing,
How could one human,
Kill another human being?

Especially one who was your own,
And so kind and sweet,
But with violence and abuse,
That is how she is treat.

Without a care,
You just leave her there.

Awake and sweaty on my bed,
I realize that she’s really not dead.

For this time it was only a dream,
You may think it’s not as bad as it seems,

But to see a friend die with such horrible fate,
To see a father with such reckless hate.

I hope to god it remains this way,
And as bad dream forever stay.
