The Girl

by Jessica Clunas   Mar 13, 2006

She sits in the back of the class alone,
A straight face with no noticeable emotions,
She didn't seem normal she is really torn inside,
slowly she bleeds from the inside out,
No one takes the time to notice her,
Everyone goes on with their lives,
She is a shadow that is never seen,
Not even the teacher cares,
At the end of the day she slowly leaves,
Walking home in a thin soft dress,
The snow hits her skin and goose bumps appear,
Her small toes turn a bright pink,
She has no place to go,
Her family out on the streets,
She has no shelter no food no clothes.

She sits in the back of the class being so quiet,
No one ever talks to her... They are scared,
She seems so dark and so angry,
She isn't a â??normalâ?? girl,
When she leaves she walks alone,
She never tries to fit in,
No one even knows where she goes,
She just doesn't fit in.

She sits on a street corner,
Shivering and hungry,
She is tired of walking and she cannot go farther,
She has to find somewhere to rest,
No shelters will take her in right now,
It is a long hard winter; shelters are full,
A blade lies on the ground next to her,
Should she? Does she?
She can barely feel the pain,
The cold numbs her whole body,
Blood trickles down her arm,
Her head spins viciously,
She's out cold a few seconds later.

Does she ever go home,
She is always out about town,
Does she even have a family,
No one is ever with her,
People feel bad for her when they see her,
Is she just trying to get attention,
Does she really need help,
No one wants to help someone like her.

She wakes up warm and comfortable,
The room is quiet but she knows she is not alone,
She cannot see anyone next to her though,
she feels that people are watching her,
Is she dead.. She hopes she is,
She moves, the pain from her wrist shoots through her body,
She must not be dead,
A doctor stands next to her and sits her up.

Maybe she was just waiting for attention,
maybe she really does need friends,
no one ever took the time to really care for her,
maybe the people in her class should of,
none of them took the time,
she wasn't a normal girl.

She looks around,
everyone from her class is at the end of her bed,
Each of them have a different card for her,
Most if not all of them say the same thing,
"Sorry" and a "Get well soon"??,
But even with all of the cards not even half had one thing,
Her name!

She sat in the back of the class alone,
She had a straight face with no emotion.
She didn't seem normal she was torn inside,
She bled from the inside out,
No one had taken the time to care before,
Everyone went on with their lives,
She was a shadow that no one noticed,
Not even the teacher cared!
