Counting the cracks in my heart

This is how i count the cracks in my heart...

not enough tears can be shed
not enough hands can someone lend
too many rips to be mend

so many nights i lied awake
b/c the confusion i couldn't take
so many sentences my lips tried to make
and numerous smiles i had to fake

all these times we went out
even tho u had doubts
too many breakups to count
we always took the wrong route

so-called love that lasted long
too many times we sang a lonely song
will this hurt eternally prolong
we seem to do everything wrong

all the times on ur chest my head i lay
we just can't seem to stay away
we must take it day by day
everything will be okay
or so we always seem to say

the end to us was betokened
all my dreams have been awoken
so many promises have been broken

I'll never forget
how we first met
or that u said we'd always be together
u swore on it, promised me forever
