Love's Many Forms

by Michelle   Jan 23, 2004

Who's to say what we might do
When love might pass our way
Will we open up the door
Or turn that love away?
So many times it's hurt us
And we're just wanting to be free
So we just say, Love go away
Please, just let me be...
But romantic love is just one sort
Of the many we can find
The never-ending love of friends
Can stand the test of time
And when you see the love a child has
Shining in their eyes for their mother
You'll realize it's unsurpassed,
A true Love like no other
We all love the ones that brought us here
Created us, or chose us to love
And there is always the most important Love
The one from up above
His Love is unconditional
And he sees all our fears
He wants to be the one
To always help us dry our tears.
Then there is the Love we own
That leads us to get involved
When those in our communities
Need help with problems to be solved.
There's Love for our nation
For we're American and free
And we know that Love in the hearts of many
Has kept us safe in our country.
Love comes in the form of laughter
In hospitals around the world
Where the many people working there
Brighten days of sick little boys and girls
Love is in the hearts of those
Who ever saw another cry
And just that sight alone
Brought a tear into their own eye
Love will cause us to share
When we don't feel we have enough
Reminding us we've got it pretty good
And others have it pretty rough
Back now to romantic love
For it, too, does have it's day
And I haven't given up
That it somehow will find it's way.

this is a brilliant poem. I like it so because you write about so much, it all makes sense and was just a pleasure to read. Well done, K
