Fallen Star 'sad'

I trudge alone through the icy night,
Dim specks of stars the only light.
Tears chill my face as I kneel to cry
Beneath the infinite onyx sky.
Why did you think you were just one more star,
A faint, nameless speck of light watched from afar?
Each crystal fragment is a great sun somewhere,
An eternal beacon to ward off despair.
We were linked by sunlight, a bond none could sever,
With a brilliance to dominate darkness forever.
Why didn't you see it? YOU were my sun,
My vision, my color, the only one.
I gave you my trust, I gave all I could give,
And you still gave up hope... unwilling to live.
But when you took yourself, you took my light,
And my soul is now lost in eternal night...
