Wounded

by Bryan Berry   Mar 14, 2006

This gaping wound scares them away
And I end up all alone at the end of the day
I wonder why I just can't heal anymore
Why can't I just be the way I was before?

I have been wounded
And I can't stand tall
My heart has faded
I feel nothing at all

I know no doctor that can operate
No one can seal this hole in my heart I hate
No woman can make it pump warm, red blood again
I'll just write away my problems with this bold, dark pen

I have been wounded
And I can't stand tall
My heart has faded
I feel nothing at all

So I'll just lie here
Indulging in my fear
That I'll forever be
Alone and bleeding

I have been wounded
And I can't stand tall
My heart has faded
I feel nothing at all
