Hating Love

by Matt Fleckney   Mar 14, 2006

You hate them
because they care.
You run from them
because they reach out
to hold you in their soft,
loving embrace.

You loathe the love
they have for you,
and yet, strangely,
you are drawn to them
like the proverbial
moth to the flame.

You avoid them
and seek them out
like a treasure
with a fatal price.

You want to be with them
and they want to be with you.
so why do you hate them,
with all of your being?
Because they love you,
with all of theirs.
