To escape the dreams

To escape the dreams, to escape the tears
I'll learn to fight these constant nightmares
a look of love will help me to fight
a caring hug to hold me tight

a solitary tear is brushed away
a gentle hand to make my body sway
"sleep" a voice says in my ear
"I am here have no fear"

on his words i am Dependant
his voice, his smile, his eyes, his scent
i pray silently that he'll never leave
to lose this love my heart would grieve

its 4am I'm wide awake
my body trembling, my hands shake
i start to sob quietly as not to wake him
let him dream, i cant forget them

the nightmares which started so long
the nightmares which filled my heart with woe
the tears i cried could fill a river
these nightmares cannot last forever

one night i will sleep soundly
one night i will not fear
one night my mind will relax
and my screams you will not hear.
