Distraction and Destruction

by Poetvoices   Mar 14, 2006

I miss the smile that used to grace your face
when you really meant it.
I miss your warm presence and love for others
and I've tried to hint it.

Recently, without her,
we talked like no tomorrow.
Now, she's back and you hang your head.
I can see your sorrow.

She made you quit the things you love.
She's choosing your career.
She's distancing you from the ones you love.
I'm young, but lend me your ear.

I know you won't leave her.
I just want you to see what I do
and be aware that this girl
doesn't care for you like we do.
