You told me...

by NashvilleBlues   Mar 14, 2006

Passing through the halls at school,
I think of how
I could've been with you.
I'm with the guy
who broke my heart,
I broke your promise,
and it tore us apart.
You told me that
he wasn't worth my time,
that he would never be true,
that he would always lie.
You told me that
you hurt, when i hurt,
You told me that
I was of much more worth.
I didn't care what
you said or thought,
It didn't matter
because I liked him a lot.
Now I see
what I didn't before,
I see that it's you
I've been waiting for.
But it's too late,
You've moved on,
Our long time friendship
is almost gone.
I'm no longer happy
with the guy I have,
Cuz he's a real jerk,
but i guess that's too bad.
I see you,
as i walk through these halls,
and I wonder if
you still like me at all,
If you dont,
I don't blame you,
I was a real jerk,
but now I know
how much you were hurt.
So if you could find a way
to like me like you did,
believe me,
this time.....
there's no way I could miss it.
