Mute to the world

by *Jess*   Mar 15, 2006

Her blood so cold,
her fists so tight,
her heart so black,
like the winter night.

not a name in the book,
can break that pride,
but if they only knew,
what she feels inside

her cold eyes so empty,
as if nothing there,
eyes once filled with hope,
are now a blood hurdling stare.

mute to the world,
never has spoken,
her chin is up,
but her spirit is broken

no one to love,
only to hate,
jaw clenched in her mouth,
she opens the gate.

she walks up the path,
to face her fear,
the nightmare of her own home,
a house lacking of cheer.

the memories haunting,
her damaged mind,
she knocks on the door,
with a shiver up her spine.

you've come back,
her mother said opening the door,
the girl glanced past,
at the blood stains still on the floor.

i've come home she stuttered,
holding back her cries,
waiting for a welcome,
in her mothers stunned eyes.

That was incredible! I loved it! At first i got the impression she killed herself and was lying dead on the floor...But the message got clearer towards the end! That was a delight to read and flowed so well! 5 kudos!
