Our Rituals

by LadyPearl   Mar 16, 2006

Unspoken in the silent dust
Chained to unwanted trust
The ways of the people grow
Their mind expand ever slow

Hearts are filled with a longing
Not of love, but of being greedy
No limit to satisfaction anymore
Desireing for something more

Talking overtakes listening
Chaos is only the beginning
The passion to thrive overthrowed
Replaced by one who is cold

Only a mind who speaks words
The heart is no longer heard
Conspiracy lies everywhere
Spreading, with no one's care

Into the blood of our children
Our daughters and our sons
Infecting, eyes of kindness
Changing, to newborn madness

Our rituals tinted in dark ways
Incaged by humanity, as always
Our habits, grow upon the pain
Pain decays, goodness is slain

I really like it. you are talented with rhyme. it doesnt sound forced. um the rhythm changes a bit and it is a bit unexpected but that might be the way im reading it. oh and, in the first stanza line 4, shouldn't mind be minds. or something in the third line should be changed. i saw that type of grammer problem in one of your other poems. just keep that in mind. But awesome job. i love it!

The last stanza I really liked. I had to read it a few times to get the full meaning of it which is o.k. sometimes when it is a detailed poem.
