From Me To You

by Ian Vincent   Mar 16, 2006

Did it ever cross your mind that I may have actually loved you?
Or just some funny feelings that I hoped that you would feel too.
I hate the fact that all that we can be is friends forever,
When all I wanted all the time was us to be together.

I said that I would give you time, what ever that you needed,
I would of got down on the ground on hands and knees and pleaded.
If this is how it has to be, theres nothing I can do,
Than hope to be the best friend that there is out there for you.

It hurts so much when all I think about is what we had,
I got to keep my chin up high and cherish what I now have.
A heart that just felt broken but in fact was in decline,
A heart thats always vacant just in case you change your mind.

Moving on without you now just feels so insufficient
Just feels so frickin pointless but hopefully beneficent
I do hope that when this is done that things turn to plan, you were
right to say that we should leave our future in gods hands.

Remember who first loved you and remember who still does,
It never is the end you said, so hold onto that because.
What ever happens in your life don't happen for a reason
It happens cause god wants it to we just got to believe in, what we

Do and who we are is what makes us all unique
From the way we act, the way we see the way we think and speak.
In time apart you'll learn new things you'll grow in god so much...

Just don't forget the boy you loved and promise to stay in touch.

Take care my friend...

This is a touching poem, but some of the lines fade in an out of strength--there are some breathtaking lines and some weak, poor quality lines lacking depth. Some of your grammar is incorrect, and the tense of the poem hops around. Other than those negatives, I think you've got a lot to work with. You have some great, raw talent. Keep writing!
