Drowning

by mookoo   Mar 17, 2006

Broken and edged in pain,
a girl lays crying in vain,
tears collecting in essence,
weighing on her very presence,

tears whisked with salt rain,
slowly driving her insane,
burning in scars unseen,
tainting her soul unclean,

as time goes by she weeps,
lost in the thick clouds deep,
soft sobbing catches in her throat,
thoughts trailing on a sour note,

wishing for an end to it all,
the lurid pain to cease and lull,
fallen by the waste side,
demeaning lies upon her pride,

drowning in her sadness,
hidden by facades of bliss,
left to the mercy of tears,
introducing new fears,

torn and bleeding now,
tears still catch upon her brow,
consumed in self inflicted grief,
as her life is stolen by a thief,

in her puddle of remorse,
symbol of what hate deplores,
she’s still in death evermore,
lying mangled upon the floor.

Dark, i like it, but just for future reference, it's the "way side" not the "waste side". really good poem though, stunning imagery, and really desolate. 5/5
