But Where is your Mum, Mum?

by wdnest   Mar 17, 2006

"But where is your Mum, Mum?"
My innocent child asked
For if she only knew
It was such a task

What I wanted to reply
Was neither here nor there
I just said so quietly
"She did not really care"

My child turned away
For she did not know
She did not understand the pain
Beneath I felt a glow

My father was a molester
He did it for many years
My mother just stood by
Watching my many tears

I spent an age denying
Until I understood
That what he did to me
No man bloody well should

So now I stand there with a glow
As my child turns away
For she will shortly understand
I am protecting her this day
