Raining Cats And Dogs

by Kaylee   Mar 17, 2006

A/N A child\'s point of view on the rain.
_____________________________________

The world means more to me than anything.

Sometimes there is a storm and lightning flashes.
This means that the rain starts to pour on the streets.

Mommy told me that it rains cats and dogs.
I've never seen them.
I hope they don't get wet out there.

I sometimes leave food out there for them.
Usually some trail mix from the kitchen.
I don't like trail mix,
but I like kitties and doggies.
Just not wet kitties and doggies.

I don't think they like trail mix either.
I see it still piled
wet on the street.
Sometimes washed in the gutters.

It's raining right now.
Maybe mommy will let me outside.
I'll find those cats and dogs.
Maybe I can keep one.

Good poetry, some of the phrases were repetitive like 'cats + dogs' and 'trail mix' but otherwise I liked it. The only reason I mentioned the phrases was because they didnt seem to need repeating..5/5

That is such a cute poem :) The naievity (Or however you spell it) form the point of view of a child just makes the poem so fulfilling to read :)

    Peace. [Sole]

Lovely and sweet and beautiful all at the same time. You capture a child's point of view excellently here

"I hope they don't get wet out there."
    That part made me giggle.

I like this poem because it captures the essence of childish innocence....although, it does become somewhat repetitive near the end. Nevertheless, it was a great poem. Thanks for sharing!
