Leaving you behind

As I sit here
You are happy with her
When I'm with you
All you feel is anger

I wish I could fix the problems
But I couldn't see
That every single word I said
Was making you angrier at me

So the only option left to me
Is start walking and go as far as I can
And hope some day
That I'll be able to stop
Because every step I take away from you
lets you let go of your anger a little more

Now as I take this first step
All I ask is that you never forget
All the times that we were together
And maybe someday I'll become someone better
