Solitude Swing

Solitude Swing

Verse 1:
To say, to plead,
to sway, to bleed,
another day behind,
chasing a forgotten dream.

Those calls when you needed me
few and far between
a mirage in a beggar's dream
'til sorrow stained my sheets.

Verse 1:
Bridges and boundaries
infinitely stretched
a canvas of longing
a smear of love's haunting.

Ignore the solemn beats
of my mail-ordered heart
take back my promise ring
and tear me at the seams.

Chorus:
Toss me, use me, abuse me, kiss me, dilute me, throw me, launch me
against a wall that never existed
anywhere except between us.

Feel me, push me, forget me, drop me, lose me, erase me, purge me
from your heart's landscape
the only place I want to be

Verse 3:
It's minus ten degrees
in this apartment
staring at the key
that was meant for you and me

Those calls when you needed me
few and far between
and now they've ceased
and loneliness my disease.

Chorus:

Refrain:

When I wake up without you
tomorrow morning
what would my life be?
