The Blind

by Christy Trenholm Schmall   Mar 19, 2006

God blind my eyes
that I see not what I've seen

Pray for the children
for what their lives might've been

Say good-bye to freedom
For it's slowly slipping away

Where are the rebels now?
Where are the Champions?

Beg forgiveness for our arrogance
our anger and our hate

Laugh tears of irony
at our self-inflicted fate

Mourn that God did not make
us blind in our eyes
Instead of our minds.

This is a powerful piece. It pulls the reader into thinking about some tough truths...flows well and the last stanza is the ribbon on the package...

A powerful piece, indeed. Puts the reader directly in the message you are conveying.
