Protect Me

by Lithium   Mar 20, 2006

Protect me from what I want,
A love in deep desires,
A painful sin in which I dwell,
Counteract this deadly fire,

On the hole which I call my heart,
My broken soul tethered in two,
With the tiny pieces I pick up,
I'm still able to love you,

Maybe I'm a victim of fate,
Catching an emotional disease,
From all the memories we shared,
Passionate moments were these,

We'd touch and we'd kiss,
But now I'm all alone,
Until next time we meet,
What happens shall be unknown,

Wedding bells ain't gonna chime,
Nor did I ever expect,
One last kiss from your body,
Something so perfect,

When it comes time,
To leave your embrace,
I can't hold back the tears,
That seem to run down my face,

Even as the memories flood my soul,
My thoughts are mainly of you,
I pray you find happiness,
And remain un-hurt too,

My secret love shall always be hidden,
But your friendship has kept me here today,
I just ask not to be forgotten,
Because for you is why I stay.
