For Sonja (Part 38)

by ntv650   Jan 25, 2004

A snap from behind, A twist of the rhyme!
A beat that you've missed, a lyrical crime?
Taking you by surprise, manipulating words in a short space of time.
Some call it an art others ashame.

It's like a dig in your ribs, the difference between a rumor and a truth
A hidden line in a small book, A broken law,
Taking a wire and bending it into a crooked hook,
Such is the life of a broken man, dangling from a noose.

It's like a life you are forced to live, on a chessboard that has no squares,
Your not playing by the rules and you don't care if its unfair.
Not lying but simply avoiding the question is your skill,
To end up in check mate, once you've moved in for the kill.

Another batch of poems, all around the same person that I simply adore but cannot have.
