Beach Beauty - Part 1

Beach Beauty Part 1
7/10/04

I first saw your crooked little smile
Standing by the Hawaiian shaved ice stand
It must have been half a mile
Your blonde hair the color of sand

I never had the nerve to say "Hi" to a girl
Especially one whose eyes lit up the skies
You looked like the star of my fantasy world
I wouldn`t let my chance go idly by

I cleared my anxious throat before I dared speak
Your perfect blue eyes connected with mine
I had just arrived here for the week
My watch read a quarter 'til nine

When I reached down for the perfect words to say
My mouth ran off with these words I couldnt believe
"If I said you had a nice body, would you hold it against me"?
Oh how I wished God would ve hit me with lightning

I was waiting for the gut busting laughter to stop
I knew the inevitable reply I was about to receive
I really thought your head was going to pop
I turned around fast` cause I was leaving

I felt your hand grab at my collar
I wished I could have pleaded mute
But you flashed that beautiful grin
You told me I was kind of cute

After pinching myself to make sure I was still alive
I asked if you would like a drink, or maybe just to talk
I waited for your answer like a child of five
You said "Lets go down to the boardwalk.."
