Too Much To Take

by Kaely   Mar 20, 2006

Beep! Beep! Beep!
Sounds my alarm clock,
As it seems to mock,
How late I stayed up the night before.
As I rise from my bed,
I hit my head,
On the bunk above me.
I walk downstairs for breakfast,
And as I read the paper,
I notice an article,
About another teenage student dead,
Making a total of six this week.
Also a girl had tried suicide,
After she had found her best friend dead,
Honestly I think to myself,
She knows what it's like for a friend to die,
But yet she tries it too,
And with a sigh,
I rise from the table and leave for school.
At lunch I see a kid bailed up,
By the bully's who think they're cool.
As I walk past them,
I feel a sharp pain in my chest,
Suddenly everybody starts running,
And I hit the ground,
My hands covered in blood,
I look up at the teenager,
Whom the bullies had been picking on,
Standing there with a look of horror on his face,
And a recently fired pistol at his feet.
With all the confusion,
The bullies had managed to slip away.
As I drift out of consciousness,
I see the kid's future flash away,
And I'm sure the kid sees the same.
This one mistake he'd made,
Has cost him his future,
All because a group of people,
Had decided to make him feel useless,
And had made him retaliate in such a manner,
He'd hurt an innocent and himself,
But the bullies were forgotten,
And were left to destroy,
Another's future with their teasing,
Until another can take no more.
