Christmas Time

by Beauty Within These Pages of Darkness   Mar 20, 2006

I wrote this poem over the Christmas period

***********************************

You creep down the stairs,
Seeing your presents, wrapped up in a pile,
Better wait for your parents to wake,
You know it'll be a while.

***********************************

A very lengthy hour passes,
Mum and Dad walk finally walk down the stairs,
You greet them with a beaming smile,
On this magical day,
Everyone goes that extra mile.

***********************************

The Christmas tree,
Takes pride of place,
Your family and friends,
Greets you with a warm and loving embrace,

***********************************

As you take turns,
To unwrap each of your received gifts,
All around you can see,
That the gloomy spirit has been lifted,

***********************************

Looking out of the window,
Floating down is the cold, white snow,
The stormy breeze,
Moves the snow around with one simple blow,

***********************************

These are unforgettable moments,
That only comes around once a year,
So treasure these moments,
And join in on the Christmas cheer.

***********************************
