Unrequited

by Shane   Mar 20, 2006

A soft simplicity
joins with it
a nostalgia knowing
that we do not fit
However true
that may seem
it's still these feelings
I long to redeem
And though those petals
slowly fall
I still believe
I will give my all
For the face
scorched into reality
by that seemingly endless
burst of vitality
I'd say I love you
even though I should wait
it's years that I've known you
and it's never too late
That Rose is out of reach
I'll make it mine
I'll spend my days for now
climbing that vine
