Good start. You have the right idea, however you need to make your poems more captivating. Use a thesaurus and look up big words that you could use! haha, just kidding, but sometimes that does help. Also, you would be surprised how often adding rhyme to your poems increases their quality and meaningfulness. Is that a word? oh well..... Keep writing! (:
