The Day she Died

by ~*~Yours-Truly~*~   Mar 21, 2006

This is a poem,
About the day she died.
Tears ran down her cheeks,
She was petrified.

He walked into the room,
Carrying a blade.
"Why have you got that?" she asked,
"You'll see," he explained.

She looked up from her sore red eyes,
She dried her glistening tears.
She backed away against the wall,
But the knife was getting nearer.

Terrified, she screamed so loud,
It almost hurt her ears.
But no matter how loud she was,
She knew no-one would hear.

They were nearly touching,
When he lowered the knife.
She uttered a low groan,
And waited for the end of her life.

She tried to stop the blood,
But it just poured and poured.
He just stood and laughed,
Watching her fall to the floor.

So that's how her life ended,
Without even a chance to say goodbye.
But the thing that hurt her most,
Was that it was her daddy with the knife.

Oh wow, it was good how you explained everything, gave the reader the sense that they are there and can see it all happening right before them, and the ending was probably the best way to end this poem! Keep up the good work 5/5
