Comma

by Andy   Mar 21, 2006

Death isn't a full stop, its a comma,
Or so we're led to believe,
The sentence always ends in a haven,
If you're seriously that naive.

Mother always told her children,
"Don't take the LORD'S name in vain!"
After all, Jesus died for your sins,
Least thats what he'll claim.

So cynical of religion,
I may seem to you,
Take a deeper look inside me,
Share my point of view,

Death isn't a full stop, its a comma,
A comma with a full stop above;
Death is explanation,
Of light, truth, and love,

Death is what guides us,
Throughout our day-to-day,
The reason why we do our jobs,
Why we sit and pray.

Life revolves around death you see,
Circling the drain,
Death gives life urgency,
A reason for our pain.

So smile and take a breath,
Your last one drawing close,
Remember only this,
For death itself cannot boast.
