A long way to fall

by Jon Hunt   Mar 21, 2006

A long way to fall, if you can't go for all,
Say those things you want to say,
But consequences shan't fade away.
And possible and maybe not,
Breed thoughts in mind that begin to rot.
Would it be right? And would it work out?
Or just break my heart to stand 'nother bout.
And could I say these thoughts are mine,
Or am I stealing some ones time.
And could I find the words to say,
And say them right for come-what-may.
But fear the answers, fear the truths,
But fear my self, fear my truths more.
For if you were to feel the same,
Would you stand by me to keep me sane.
And humour me for just awhile,
With touch so slight and gentle smile.
And let us lay, and talk of talk,
Or find some time to take a walk.
To know you well, to help me say,
I need her, you! No other way.
To share our thoughts, to laugh and sing,
Please be my one, I'll be your king.
Or you an angel, guardian or child,
Of sweetest nature, and matter mild.
And be that one who means so much,
Of purest love and subtle touch.
And please, just once consider this,
Are you the one that I insist,
That means the most, and much and more,
And was it you I was looking for.
