That Adrenaline Rush

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Mar 21, 2006

For the first time in six weeks,
My feet hammer the snowy asphalt.
For the first time in six weeks,
I feel free.

My body has been aching
For that adrenaline rush.
My legs have become restless,
Waiting for the end of the recovery.

I would sit at my window
And watch the outdoors; waiting.
Waiting for the day I could run again,
Waiting for that adrenaline rush.

Even though the pain stabs my ankle,
I feel too good to stop;
I've learned that no matter the injury,
I must never give up.

So when you see a girl running on the street,
A huge smile on her face, look twice.

That girl knows exactly how I feel
And she understands how it is impossible for me
To give up what I love most...

So when you see a girl running,
Take a closer look, she may just be me...
