Wingless Bird

by Timothy S   Mar 22, 2006

I wish I didn't have a heart, so I could pull you back
Back to the start of it all, before my world turned black
When we were both comfortable and heads still in tact
Before the rise of obilvion and the end of the track
In my opinion, we both didn't bend, we broke in half
Sewn the halves together, but as one we'd never last
So we fell apart again but left for another to grasp
I kept in a shell at my will, to keep out the laughs
Inside my head, half filled with thoughts to grab
About being half empty, I was prey caught in your trap
Set me free, but being contained so long, I came right back
So you pushed me away, so I fell so fast
Wingless bird, uncaged to a world that's moved past
Searching forever for a caretaker with a soft hand
