Hopelessness (1992)

by Ed or Ian Henderson   Mar 23, 2006

Hopelessness: the cancer of the soul.
No will to achieve an ambition or a goal.
The unending night just will not go away.
Retreat into your sleep before you go astray.

Carelessness: the source of our decline.
Personal security we always undermine.
Lock yourself away in a semi-detached jail.
Protect yourself with ignorance, cover your own trail.

Society: the reason we retreat.
Always let them beat you, always in defeat.
Take away your pride and then they take away the peace.
Your lack of confidence in law makes you your own police

Wow... that poem is awesome. The message in it is true as well. I love the flow and the meaning. It is so awesome, meaning is pratically shoved into every word. 5/5 for sure. Thank you for the idea on my poem, greatly appreciated ^_^
