I'll Sleep (1990)

by Ed or Ian Henderson   Mar 23, 2006

Well look at what you've done to me.
You brought me down into this misery.
Staring at me just like I'm a painting,
Has let me stumbling, hesitating.
And I'll treasure each passing hour,
Before I crush your beauty like a flower.
You brought me down into this misery.
Coming here was a painful journey.

I stagger across through the rain,
To a place where I can sooth my pain.
I drown in alcohol for my sorrow,
Don't care for life now or tomorrow.
And you don't care about anyone
But yourself, you're your only one.
Then I see more than one sinner,
Like I'm looking in a mirror?

I can't may you understand me.
Just like you can try to change me.
I'll either make you turn to hate
Or love will come to emancipate.
This heart which loses always
And turns now to face past days.
I'll change confused thoughts in time.
I'll sleep before I start that climb.
I'll sleep.
Either forever, or after,
I'll sleep.

Wow Ed, that was beautifully written. I loved it, The Flow and the Ryhme was great.

    This Line:
I can't may you understand me.

    Should be:
I can't make you understand me.

Other than that amazing peice of poetry.

    Peace, Joe
