You saved me from myself

by Leah   Mar 24, 2006

She was a shy girl
a girl to shy for anyone to see
a shy girl, hidden like a shadow
hidden from hope, and from plea.

She was an immortal girl
a girl to lost to find her wings
a girl who lives inside a heart
suffering from tragic things.

Please take my hand
and cross it with the blade and the blood, and when everythings right, and everythings wrong, my eyes start to flood.

Take my soul in yours tonight
intertwine our fingers
touch me like you love me
a heart that truly lingers.

And when I find the silver blade
and move it harsh across my skin
find me where I always stand
in your heart, where I've always been.

Pick me a rose from a dreaded bush, and hold it in your mouth
for all I have is severed dreams
dreams without my health.

You found me laying on my floor
one late night, with the mutilated face, but you did not judge me, you held me tight and secure in your embrace.

Tried to get me the help I needed
but with tears I ran away,
could not face the world
didn't want to live another day.

I cut myself so many times
countless times indeed,
you were scared I'd finally end my life, that one day I would succeed.

You bend down on one knee
on a cold winters day
snow was falling just like tears
somewhere deep inside,
you knew I'd be okay.

Asked me if I'd marry you
astonished look I prevail
and here I am today
standing before myself
wearing a white wedding vail.

And after that, the cuts stopped
and I didn't commit suicide
didn't hate myself anymore
you tickled the tears I cried.

Pick me a rose from a dreary
bush, and hold it in your mouth
on this wedding day of ours,
you saved me from myself.
