Neon lights and Downright lies

Its not easy to be you
when the world thinks youre an angel
and no one can see
that everyday is hell

and it wounds you so deeply
just to see them smile
coz its like a neon light
burning in the black sky of denial

you know that from the start
youve been as good as dead
when the deepest part of your soul
is a place heroes fear to tread

no one can see the damage caused
by a simple i love you
when all your life youve been betrayed
by the ones you thought you knew

and every minute youre consumed
thinking of the right thing to say
the thing thatll make them smile, laugh
the thing thatll make you seem ok

and so desperately you want them to see
that your smile is just a frown
you just need someone to understand..
but you know you cant drag them down

so youll keep on smiling
and youll keep on lying
while from the inside out
you know youre dying

and one day itll be too late
and youll wish you didnt hide
under that mask of golden sunshine
while the lights were out inside

you friends will live their normal lives
of love and work instead
of a razorblade and broken heart
coz everything you ever were is dead

theyll never know what its like
to cry every night
to get up after every fall
just to lose the fight

im afraid that we are on our own
coz no one understands
what its like to live your life
while deaths holding your hand
