Mountain Hike

by Catherine Sawyer   Mar 24, 2006

The view is overwhelming, such beauty, while so meek
Through the trees I perceive astounding snow capped peaks
The different levels of wonder, gloriously grand
Seeing the spectacular Mountain, proudly as it stands

Tall tress all around, fresh pine I smell
A deep breath I take, peace within me dwells
Pondering which way to continue natures hike
To reach the pointed summit, the Mountains delight

Continuing my climb over rocky terrain
As the air gets thinner, more excitement I gain
Soaring all around, high in the cloudy sky
An eagle spreads his wings, while echoing his cry

Howling is heard, a proud gray wolf appears
Glaring eyes upon my own I shiver as he nears
Frozen in place he walks past, eyes still a glare
He disappears into the trees, as he growls me a dare

My journey continues as I come closer to the top
So beautiful and breathless I surely had to stop
I sat upon a log to gaze at a beautiful fawn
Drinking from a crystal lake, playing on natures lawn

Finally, top of the mountain, I have reached my destination
Relaxed as I view Gods' beautiful creations
I lay back, close my eyes, in my peaceful serene place
Where nature calms your heart, God will touch your face!
