My tender heart

You look upon it now
and see
a hardened rock
impenatrable and unbreakable
yet to me it is so much more
to you
its as tough as leather
and no matter what you dish
it shall pass me
like nothing happened
but to me
it's my tender heart
every word
is a razor blade
slicing it apart
every smirk
is a whip
beating me for fun
every glare
a laser beam
creating another hole
to you it's scarred and worn
a toy
that you may toss around
yet to me
its fragile glass
a beautiful piece
but with every shove
it breaks
to you it is
a popped baloon
useless and dull
nothing fascinating
but to me
it is a kitten
that needs love
and someone to care
to you it is nothing
