You Love Her

by psychedelic   Mar 25, 2006

She smiles and laughs different than I do
My flaws are many and hers are few
And though you may have loved me then
Now she's your "more than a friend"

Then I wonder what I did wrong
With my tub of ice cream and my heartbreaking song
How could you not love me when you did before
And how is it possible you now love her more

Why is it I smile and say she's perfect for you
When I really want to say I could be perfect too
Maybe 'cos I love you too much to tear you apart
And now that love for you is clawing at my heart.

It's hard to find the right words to say
That I hate you more and more each day
I hate you because I can't hate her
And I can't hate her because you and me were

A once upon a time, that no longer exists
Something that's not worth the risk
Of your happiness, and it confuses me
Because I love and hate it when you're happy

I look at her with admiration
While I live inside my imagination
And I finally figure out that she
is everything I want to be

Because you love her
