When They Come

by Sh**tingst*r   Mar 25, 2006

Screams shattered the night as I lain in bed. Cold beads of sweat lined my forehead. Alone and dark, fear had reached me as the hours passed by. All those great people, all those destroyed lives...as my mind wandered to the thought of when...They... would get me. When they would come barging at my door, dragging me out of my familiar room. My mind came back to reality. Lights passed by my window in a flash. The dreaded time had come. Steps were heard on the creaky, rickety stairs. Boom...Boom...Boom! Hesitantly I reached for the doorknob. They had come. No! no!leave me here. Get away from me! No!
The Nazis had come for me. I died at Auschwitz on April, 9, 1942.
