Mask of the dead

by Lenny   Mar 26, 2006

Its masquerade time,
Don your mask,
And we'll all step out,
From our conical cask,
Masks on display,
Truths hidden away,
And thus dawns the start of our very first day.
Away from mother,
With mask splaying alludes,
Images playing to please the shrewd,
Image, façade, across the face,
Born into this world with veil in place,
Honest lies, you oath to tell,
And keep this promise,
You surely shall,
For theatrical mask stays on the whole show,
No change of costume shall existence know,
And as curtains close,
And the show draws an end,
For final mask we lastly send,
Thus we are buried,
Last masks on our head,
As we join the new show,
With our mask of the dead. . .
